Monday June 29, 2009 - Stony Ridge Observatory:

The Sci-Vi team headed to the Stony Ridge Observatory, located in the San Gabriel Mountains, the home facility of our public education partner, the Stony Ridge Observatory Association. The observatory is home to the 30 inch reflector, largest telescope in California that is publicly available for visual observations. Unfortunately, due to sudden clouds we were able to view only the Moon and Saturn.

For more information on Stony Ridge Observatory please visit their website at: http://www.stoney-ridge.org and for a short film on the building of Stony Ridge please visit: http://www.stony-ridge.org/Stony_Ridge_Movie_Original.html.
